Fact about Alligator Gar

I just watch about Alligator Gar at National Geographic channel and I want to share about this fish.

Name : Alligator Gar

Binomial name : Atractosteus spatula

Found at : Lower Mississippi River Valley and Gulf Coast states of the Southeastern US and mexico as far south as Veracruz. Central Kansas, Nebraska, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa, and west central illinois. Especially at Trinity (Texas), Massissippi, and Lousiana

Habitate : Ponds and slow backward/ large rivers, bayous, lakes.

Type of habitation : Freshwater

Basic Information : 
This fish as old as the dinousaurs. Alligator Gar had sharp teeth and thick stales. They have 2 rows of teeth on the upper jaw like needles.  It can grow up to 3meters long and live up to 50 years. This fish have a great survival. Alligator gar can breathe air from the surface so they can live and hunt in marshes where oxygen levels are low. Alligator gar can breathe like a human, using the bladder such as the lungs. A single female can produce 100,000 to 300,000 eggs. But the eggs contain a deadly toxin. So don't try to touch it directly by hand.

Rumors : Alligator gar devour the fisherman inducement results, like bass and redfish.

Facts : 
1. Althrough this fish have a scary looks but this fish are not blood thirsty monster. They save their energy same as we save our money. So they wouldn't spend their energy to eat bass and redfish.
2. These fish populations decreased because arrest by human for food and environmental changes. For example, because the dam fulfill swamp water with a sea water. Alligators Gar eggs and young alligators can't live in salt water. And because they couldn't raise the next generation, they're threatened with extinction.
3. Their size and height is shrinking. From 3meters to 2meters. The Big Monster is shrink.
